The Great Big Green Week

With the seriousness of the current climate crisis, it’s important that we continue to develop our high standards for environmental friendliness and applaud the Cornish companies, and beyond, that continue to prioritise and work on the cutting edge of environmental innovation.

When you learn about the environmental commitments of some companies, you realise that “eco-friendly” is much more than just not harmful to the environment. For companies that are truly eco-friendly, environmental consciousness is weaved throughout every aspect of the company’s identity. This is why we feel so proud and lucky to work with some of the most ethical and sustainable brands.

These companies spend a huge amount of time and finances in finding the best eco packaging, environmentally friendly production practices and the most ethical, organic ingredients. Many of these brands are focused on not only not harming the planet, but actually having a positive impact. At Naturally Cornish, we donate 1% of our profits to environmental charities such as 1% For The Planet, Blue Marine Foundation and Rising Forests. Read below to find out what we and our wonderful partners are doing in the fight against climate change.

Eco Packaging

Many of the products on will arrive in eco packaging that you can recycle or are compostable. For example, most of our gin and spirit brands use Flexi-Hex, which is 100% recyclable and a biodegradable alternative to plastic and polystyrene. This innovative solution not only protects your products but also the planet.

Organic Ingredients

This month is Organic September, a 30 day campaign to raise awareness of the benefits of organic food and farming. Some of these benefits include the reduced use of pesticides which in turn supports more biodiversity and wildlife, with organic farms having around 50% more bees, butterflies and other pollinators when compared to conventional farms.

We proudly partner with the cream of Cornish independents who share the same values for creating ethical, sustainable products. Land of Saints Organic Gin is just one of the brilliant creative brands we are lucky enough to work with. Their artisan spirits are made from 100% organic ingredients and their state-of-the-art distilling home is the only organic distillery in England certified organic by the Biodynamic Association Certification too! We'll cheers to that.

Other brands who use organic materials and ingredients are Cecily’s Ice Cream, Made for Life Organics Skincare, Siskyn Skincare Oils, Ma Natural Skincare, Freda’s Peanut Butter, Seed Home Designs and Ebb Flow Cornwall.

Recycled Materials

Recycling and reusing textiles, fibres and waste materials is an effective method to build sustainability in the fashion and accessories industry. Textile recycling offers many environmental benefits. It decreases the need for landfill space, keeping in mind the greenhouse gases released from the textiles dumped. From recycled metals used by jewellery artists to blankets being made from high quality ethically sourced yarn and British sheepskin used in luxury slippers, Cornish brands are leading the way in innovative, eco-conscious style.
