All of our spirits are created, designed, produced and bottled in our distillery in North Cornwall.

After a challenge from our wives back in 2015, The Wrecking Coast Distillery came to be, and it’s been a personal passion project for us ever since.
Born in Tintagel, our philosophy remains the same: create spirits we enjoy using local ingredients that give the nod to our Cornish roots.
To make our award-winning creations, we use a unique blend of cutting edge still technology and a more bespoke, hands-on approach.
We believe it’s this balance of approach and close attention to detail that makes all the difference when creating our distinctive spirits. It’s this passion that means we can proudly say “we made that”

What to call our very own distillery?
It started with the desire for an identity that was rooted in the area where our gin was born: Tintagel, Cornwall. Tintagel resides in an area known as The Wrecking Coast, a name we have embraced.
In the height of summer, with its soft southerly winds, clear blue skies and almost tropical aquamarine seas, The Wrecking Coast is idyllic. In the depths of winter, with 30-foot waves crashing relentlessly against the towering slate and granite cliffs, the true power and majesty of raw nature is awe inspiring.
To capture this, we commissioned local artist and Camelford Gallery owner, John Blight, to provide us with the unique piece of art that appears on our labels.!
Innovating the process
Traditional thinking leads most distillers to either a variation of the ancient alembic still or a modified European fruit still.
We wanted to bring the process of creating our gin into the 21st Century.
To achieve this, we conducted a huge amount of research to see how we could adopt technology that would take care of the main process so we could put all of our effort into developing our unique gin.
The time we invested paid dividends. We discovered iStill, a Dutch company based in Woerden, Holland – the birthplace of gin and we immediately realised this was the perfect fit.
Their technology suited exactly what we wanted to achieve, and their depth of knowledge and passion for distilling was only matched by their boundless enthusiasm.
With iStill on board, we could allow the technology to play its part and realise our vision for our Distillery.
As our recipes developed so did the need for our innovation as we constantly looked at ways of creating the spirits we love.
Our innovation leads us not only to the highly technical but also to bespoke equipment that needs a hands on approach.
Sitting alongside our range of latest still technology are our glass vacuum stills, blown in the UK to our own specification.
This unique approach of bringing together these two techniques – one derived from modern technology, the other from handcrafting, allows us to provide you with a truly distinct gin.
